Saturday, 12:30 am at the Florida Theater of Gainesville

I got into Against Me! late in the game, sometime post “Searching…” but pre “New Wave.” And because of this, I’ve never actually seen the band live. Fest seems like my best opportunity to maybe hear some of the songs I actually like. 

Just like Friday, unless you’re cooler than me and know about some secret warehouse, hotel set, or house party show by some band, this is probably the musical end of your night. Gather your friends and go eat some Five-Star.

Saturday, 8:50 at Double Down. 

I know posting something from the band's acoustic ep is bullshit. But I don't really know this band that well (at all), and I like this. 

So I’d go see them, because "my schedule" is pretty packed with bands I already know, and I need some surprises.

Every time I’ve seen B&T, they’ve been awesome. Last year’s hardcore cover set(s) were great. 

However, if you caught them at the pre-fest show at 1982, go see the Riot Before at the Double Down.

Ted Leo never disappoints live. Well he has never disappointed me anyway. I haven’t seen him live since like 2007, and would like to fix that.

Normal Tim Barry performances are just Tim, or sometimes Tim and Josh Small, last year at Fest, he played with 4 piece brass band.

Until Kid Dynamite and the Sleepy Time Trio were announced, Iron Chic was without question the band I most wanted to see. 

Not Like This is hands down my favorite release of 2010.

Saturday, 7:20 at 8 Seconds.

Last year I caught the last few songs of there set at 8 Seconds, the entire place was packed. It wasn’t that full for Frank Turner, Torche or anyone else I saw that weekend. Just jammed full of stinky folk punx/crust kids.  Then as soon as the band finished, 80% of the place cleared out.

Smelly kids or not, they’re a fun band.

Don’t let the haircuts, short shorts and constant talk about gender/sexual politics between every song dissuade you, Rvivr is a must see.

 My wife loves her some Paul Baribeau. So last year, when she couldn’t make it down with me to Fest,  I asked Paul to make a sad face for a picture, and I sent it to her. She was pretty psyched, not “I saw her play live" psyched, but psyched nonetheless.
