TAG: SELF RELEASED

The Bill Burr line is pretty awful, but other than that, I really like this song.

This sounds like a band that named themselves after a Thou song and its great.

They have a new album out, go get it.

The first 5 minutes and 15 seconds of this are fantastic, then it loses me until the 12 minute mark. But at 15 total minutes, this is tough listen.

But those first 5 minutes.

Australian noise rock with a touch of sleaze.

The liner notes for this album include “We made this album just as we made Consider, with no overdubs, loop pedals or effects pedals so we could preform it live exactly as it is on this record.” My dudes, effects pedals, even loopers, are portable. You can easily use those in a live setting, many bands do.

Metallic hardcore with some thrash elements.

Album of the year material.

A bandcamp supporter comments sum this up perfectly: “Been a fan since 06/07 which is scary to think about. Phenomenal band. A total mystery as to how they aren’t bigger.”

How does a band like this fly under the radar for 10 years (at least as far as I can tell)?

An incredibly hard to search band name already doesn’t help. Neither does a great though sort of generic sound. Aminals are good, they are totally nailing that early 00s metal/hardcore Converge thing, but so have lots of bands.

Despite what it might sound like, I do like the album and its free on their bandcamp page.

I’ve been listening to this album a lot the last couple weeks.

Go get it.

This band is Russian, so I apologize right off the bat if Google translate has mangled the original untranslated Russian title of this song: “если солома высохла, она загорится”.

Sort of droney post rock with some 90s emo touches, particularly in the vocals.  

Its free on their Bandcamp page.

This song, and then the album/mixtape its from has been on nearly constant rotation since a NPR show/ Podcast brought it to my attention.
